• Education

I had a pretty normal education up to O'Level and CSE as it was known back in the 1970's. Even then, Art was my favourite subject and the one that I did best in.
However, I left school straight after my exams as an oportunity presented itself to work in the shipping industry, working in a port office in Genova and then La Spezia in Italy.
While in Italy, I did attend weekend life drawing classes hosted by the well known Italian artist, Bruno Liberti in his studio in Sampierdarena, Genova.
Bruno was a very helpful tutor and I learnt a lot from him, I just wish I still had the pencil drawings that I did in his classes.  He certainly had the ability to bring out the best in a budding artist.
    • Cornwall
I came back to England at the beginning of the 1980's and made my home in Cornwall where I still live today.
I have been painting with pastels ever since, inspired by the magnificent landscape and coast of the region.
Nearly 40 years later, my work has evolved at it's own pace though there are several artists who have influenced me considerably and I would have loved to attend some of their classes.
    • Exhibitions
Balancing art with life and earning a sustainable living has meant that I have only exhibited three times.  In the late 80's at the Claremont Hotel in Polperro, at the Wharf in Tavistock in 2015 and at the Ashtorre Rock on Saltash Waterside in 2016.
    • Galleries
At present, my work is not represented by any galleries as I have not actively tried yet.
I am willing to talk to galleries however if they feel my work has a place in their portfolio
So for the time being, my website is the only place you can buy my art.
    • Artist Societies
I am a Journeyer member of The Pastel Guild of Europe which I joined to become part of an active community of artists.

For the last year I have also been the designer and editor of the quarterly Scribbler magazine for the PGE which is distributed to all members.
